It is not very common to find huge places empty of people in the imperial palace… especially during a Sunday afternoon visit. It is really in such a case that the feeling of immensity is taking its whole meaning. The Forbidden City was a City inside the City and not just a Palace. Try to imagine that this place was full of people before the end of the Qing Dynasty is unbelievable… This is China.
