IOC pleased with Beijing 2022 progress

published: 2017-06-18 11:37:30(13 Jun 2017) Beijing said on Tuesday that it will complete the construction of the main venues and infrastructural facilities for the 2022 Winter Olympics by the end of 2019. Speaking at a meeting with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Cai Qi, the newly appointed president of the organiasng committee, said Chinese President Xi Jinping’s fully supports the organising work. During its second visit to review the preparation, IOC’s Coordination Commission visited four sites in Beijing – the new National Speed Skating Oval, the Capital Indoor Stadium, Wukesong Sports Centre and the Shougang Industry Park – and said it was “very happy with progress made”.

The IOC’s Coordination Commission will make the next full visit to Beijing in 2018.
