China has again voiced concern over the deployment of American THAAD missile system in South Korea. Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Geng Shuang, says Beijing will take the necessary measures to defend its own security. The official stressed that both the US and South Korea are to be held responsible for the deployment. China has already announced measures against a number of South Korean firms in apparent retaliation for the THAAD deployment. South Korea, in response, has threatened to file a complaint with the World Trade Organization against China. South Korean Trade Minister, Joo Hyung-hwan, says Seoul will react if Beijing violates policies of the WTO or bilateral agreements. The U-S has started deploying the first elements of its controversial missile system to South Korea after the North’s latest ballistic missile test on Monday. China is opposed to the deployment, auguring that the battery’s radar can target its territory.
