Korea's contents sector expects thaw in Seoul-Beijing relations through less business damages

But such reports, at least in the cultural content sector, have suddenly stopped, raising expectations about a possible thaw in relations. According to Korea’s culture ministry,… since March 16th — when the Chinese authorities banned sales of group tours to Korea — there have been 56 cases of business damages reported in the content sector. But none since May 1st. Plus, it’s been decided that a Korean musical performance will be held in Beijing starting late June,… and a Chinese music website restored its K-pop chart.

Still, some say Korean cultural content may not be as popular in China as before, with Beijing making moves to protect its own content industry.
