A five-man delegation, formed by President Moon Jae-in, left for Beijing on Saturday for talks with Chinese officials. Those talks are set for Monday morning. The discussions will focus on the THAAD missile defense system, North Korea’s nuclear threats and bilateral economic issues. The delegation is expected to call on Beijing to end its economic retaliation against South Korea over THAAD. Over the past few months,… China has taken steps to punish Seoul for its decision to deploy THAAD,… such as banning group tours to South Korea.

This mark the first time for President Moon, who was sworn in on Wednesday,… to dispatch a delegation overseas.
